PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A retired doctor who allegedly threw wild parties for teenagers is facing rape charges after police say he put a gun to the head of a girl and raped her.
Police say 61-year-old Tawfik Nakishbendi was arrested Thursday after police received an anonymous tip earlier this month about a man providing drugs and alcohol to teens and having sex with them.
Lt. Frank Vanore says investigators located the alleged victim, who led them to Nakishbendi.
Nakishbendi faces charges including rape, sexual assault and corruption of minors. He is jailed in lieu of $250,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 10.
