Train carrying empty car carriers derails in Pa.

GREENSBURG, Pa. (AP) — A freight train carrying empty car carriers has derailed in western Pennsylvania.

No one was injured when 22 cars of the Norfolk Southern train derailed at about 4:30 a.m. today in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County. The train was traveling from New Jersey to Ohio with 113 empty car carriers.

Officials say no hazardous materials were spilled. An investigation into the cause of the derailment in ongoing.
