Additional indictment against woman charged in her daughter's death

YOUNGSTOWN — A third charge is added to the indictment of Shannon McBride in connection with the death of her 23-month-old daughter.

McBride 22, was indicted Thursday on a charge of permitting child abuse by the Mahoning County grand jury. The charge was bound over Wednesday from Mahoning County Area Court Austintown.

She also is indicted on an aggravated murder charge and an obstructing justice charge in the April 6 death of Makenzie McBride.

McBride’s boyfriend Shawn E. Davis, 25, also is charged with aggravated murder and domestic violence in Makenzie’s death.

The pair are in county jail and scheduled for an arraignment Tuesday morning in front of Judge James C. Evans of common pleas court.
