Ursuline 10, Howland 0

BAZETTA

Senior Casey Lower had 12 strikeouts and didn’t allow a walk during a two-hitter for Ursuline (9-4). Junior Kelli Kolenich went 4-for-4 with three RBIs; senior Krista Byers had three singles while sophomore Erin Vukovich and senior Malikka Caige had two hits apiece for Ursuline. One of Caige’s hits was a triple. Melanie Cope had a double and Olivia Nicholas had a single for Howland (3-9).

Champion 1, Canfield 0

CANFIELD

In a strong pitching battle between Lindsay Swipas and Karlee Hart, the Golden Flashes and Cardinals went nine innings. With two outs, Lindsay Swipas’ double to right center-field knocked in Haley McAllister for the game’s only run in the top of the ninth. McAllister led off the inning with a single followed by Tawny Rogers’ sacrifice bunt that advanced McAllister to second. Cara Cupler and Gina Mancini each had a double and single for Canfield (8-6). Swipas, a sophomore who is now 4-0, had nine strikeouts and walked two, while Karlee Hart (6-3) had 16 strikeouts and one walk for the Cardinals.

Struthers 7, Mathews 5

VIENNA

Ashley Baron (11-1) struck out nine batters and hit a three run home run to lead Struthers (12-3, 2-0) over Mathews (9-5, 4-1). Baron also drove in three runs for the Wildcats, while Mandy Ditman had two hits, including a double and two RBIs. For Mathews, Jessica Marsico had two hits, including a triple, while Stephanie Durig also had two hits.

Canton McKinley 4, Fitch 3

CANTON

Alyssa Jones doubled and singled and drove in a run for Fitch (5-4, 1-3), while Katie Donahue and Haley Martinelli each had two singles. McKinley is 2-6, 1-3.

Liberty 6, Hubbard 3

LIBERTY

Alison House struck out seven and walked five and the senior had two doubles at the plate during a three-hitter for Liberty (4-7, 1-1 AAC White Tier). Also for the Leopards, senior Shelbie Stefanski had a double and single, while juniors Julie Mikulich and Renee Dutton had a double apiece. For Hubbard, Keri Durina had a home run and a double and Ashley Bone doubled.

South Range 15, Crestview 0

NEW WATERFORD

Madison Yanek and Darrian Yanek combined to pitch a two-hit shutout against Crestview. Yanek also drove in three runs and homered in the game. Kristin Robinson drove in five runs and also homered, while Laura Biroshak drove in two. Morgan Renforth also doubled for the Raiders (12-1, 9-0 Inter Tri-County League Tier One).

Springfield 8, Columbiana 0

COLUMBIANA

Freshman Sami Semach had three strikeouts in a four-hitter, while senior Ashley Davis went 4-for-4, knocked in two runs and scored four times. One of Davis’ hits was a double. Freshman Nicole Siciliano also went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI; sophomore Kim Taylor had two doubles and two RBIs and senior Erica Pitts had two singles and two RBIs for Springfield (6-7, 6-3 ITCL Tier One). Khylea Fullum had a double and single for Columbiana (7-7, 4-5 Tier One).

Mineral Ridge 7, United 5

MINERAL RIDGE

Elyssa Simko had two hits, scored two runs and had two RBIs for Ridge (2-9, 1-8 ITCL Tier One). Megan Garland and Alyssa Sparks each added two hits. For United (6-8, 4-5), Emily Bokanovich and Hilary Hoppel each had two hits and Emily Henceroth homered and scored twice.

East Palestine 1-6, Lisbon 0-5

LISBON

In the first game, a 14-inning contest that was completed from Monday, senior Harley Huston’s single knocked in sophomore Carly Blair with one out in the bottom of the 14th for East Palestine. To set up the run, Blair singled and Emily Stewart bunted Blair to second. Blair finished with two hits, while freshman Karly Pence also had a hit. Pence (9-0) had 14 strikeouts. In the second game, East Palestine had six hits in the top of the six-run seventh. The Bulldogs (12-1, 8-0 ITCL Tier One) got RBI singles from Emily Noel, Logan Gatchel, Erin Hughes and Desiree Walker. Rachel Debray had two hits and an RBI for Lisbon (3-6 ITCL Tier One).

Lowellville 9, Southern 6

SALINEVILLE

Cori Pavlicko (9-5) led Lowellville both offensively and on the mound. Pavlicko had three hits, including a home run. Teresa Sanchez had two hits, one being a triple, and Gabby Ciccone and Brooke Pallozzi both had three hits, each with a double for the Rockets (9-5, 6-2). For Southern, Jessica Bently, Taylor Kelm, and Marla Pitts each doubled.

Lowellville 13, Southern 2

LOWELLVILLE

Cori Pavlicko had a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth inning for the Rockets, who won the game in five innings. She finished with five RBIs.

McDonald 8, Sebring 2

SEBRING

Leigh Gatta had three hits and two RBIs and Alyssa Hutzler had three hits, including a double for McDonald (8-2, 8-1 ITCL Tier Two). Emily Magill, Kaitlin Rutushin and Rachel Jones each added two hits and Jones had three RBIs. For Sebring (2-11), Taylor Ward doubled and drove in two.

Field 12, Southeast 1

RAVENNA

Kayla Carson singled and doubled for Southeast (9-3, 3-3 Portage Trail Conference) and Emily Willis added an RBI double. For Field (14-4, 6-0), Tabitha Murray homered and doubled and Hannah Fisher had three hits, including a homer.
