Beatitude house to host wine taste and auction

Beatitude House will host its 11th annual wine taste and auction at 6 p.m. May 7 at The Embassy, 5030 Youngstown-Poland Road.

The evening will include a dinner buffet, an array of premium wines offered by area distributors, a Chinese auction, a silent auction and a live auction conducted by Paul Basinger, auctioneer.

Among the items available for bids will be tickets to an Ohio State football game, use of a condo in Naples, Fla., and a condo in Marco Island, Fla., a pearl necklace and passes to the Muirfield Men’s Golf Tournament.

Tickets for the event are $75 and can be purchased by contacting the Beatitude House at (330) 744-3147. Tables for eight can be reserved for $600.

Platinum sponsors for the fundraiser include the Muransky Companies, Clear Channel Radio, Verla International, and WKBN/WYFX-TV. Host for the evening will be Jeff Kelly of WBBG-FM 106.1.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Beatitude House, which is committed to serving disadvantaged women and children in the Mahoning Valley by creating homes, providing educational opportunities and fostering healthy families.

Currently, housing is being provided for 29 families in 16 apartments in Youngstown and 13 in Warren.

The permanent supportive-housing program also provides housing for women with disabilities or who have children with disabilities and need assistance on a long-term basis.
