Police seek suspects in weekend frat fight at Pa. university

INDIANA, Pa. (AP) — Police and officials at Indiana University of Pennsylvania are trying to identify up to 30 people involved in a fight between rival fraternities that included cinderblocks, a shovel, a baseball bat and a machete as weapons.

State police say the brawlers ran away by the time police responded to the off-campus fight about 2:15 a.m. Saturday.

Police are working with IUP officials and the fraternities involved to identify suspects who could face charges ranging from aggravated assault to criminal mischief.

Police say the injuries they know about are minor, but they’re concerned someone more seriously hurt may have fled before police arrived.

IUP spokeswoman Michelle Fryling says the students involved will face school discipline, too.
