SANDRA O’BRIEN

Age: 58

Hometown: Ashtabula

Education: A master’s degree in administration from Edinboro University; a bachelor of science degree in education from Bowling Green State University.

Employment: An adjunct professor at Lakeland Community College.

Family: Husband, Patrick; three sons and one daughter.

Priority: To bring Ohio’s election laws into compliance with federal election law. Another area of concern is to restore the authority and confidence of county boards of elections that has been eroded over the past years.

Age: 42

Hometown: Kettering

Education: A master’s degree in communications and a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Dayton.

Employment: State senator.

Family: Wife, Tina; one son and two daughters.

Priority: Ensuring out-of-state groups, such as ACORN, do not illegally influence elections in Ohio. Conducting elections and the business of the secretary of state with honor and integrity. Restoring common-sense fiscal discipline to government.
