Ex-basketball coach indicted by grand jury

SHARPSVILLE, Pa.

A man who resigned as girls basketball coach at Reynolds High School here in January has since been indicted on federal child-pornography charges by a grand jury.

The federal charges stem from a Dec. 31 search of computers owned by Robert Chamberlain, of Sharpsville, who resigned as coach Jan. 2. He had been head coach there since 2004.

Chamberlain did not immediately return a message requesting comment left on his home answering-machine Friday.

Investigators say Chamberlain’s computer had been used to share files containing child pornography. The indictment was returned in January, but had remained sealed until last week. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
