Sharpsville, Pa. girls prep coach faces fed porn charges
SHARPSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A man who resigned as girls basketball coach at a western Pennsylvania high school in January has since been indicted on federal child pornography charges by a grand jury.
The federal charges stem from a Dec. 31 search of computers owned by Robert Chamberlain, of Sharpsville, who resigned as coach at Reynolds High School on Jan. 2. He had been head coach there since 2004.
Chamberlain did not immediately return a message requesting comment on his home answering machine on today.
Investigators say Chamberlain’s computer had been used to share files containing child pornography. The indictment was returned in January, but had remained sealed until last week. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
