Pa. woman acquitted for having sex with teen boys

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A suburban Philadelphia woman has been acquitted of charges of having sex with five teenage boys.

Jurors deliberated for only a few hours Friday before acquitting 41-year-old Lisa Scott of Linwood of about two dozen charges including statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and endangering the welfare of children.

Scott, who had been jailed since March, took the stand to firmly deny sexual contact with the youths.

Defense attorney Mark Much said his client came to the courthouse for justice and “didn’t leave empty-handed.” He accused the teens of lying in order to get out of other problems with the law.

District Attorney G. Michael Green defended the decision to take the case to trial, saying he had an obligation to try to protect the community.

Investigators had alleged that Scott gave alcohol to boys ranging in age from 13 to 16, bought them expensive gifts and had sex with them.
