Grand jury to see 9 of 10 drug cases

WARREN — Nine of the 10 people charged in Warren Municipal Court last week in a raid of a house on West Market Street have had their cases bound over to a Trumbull County grand jury.

The nine appeared in court Thursday and waived preliminary hearings. Judge Terry Ivanchak kept bond amounts the same for seven of the nine but reduced bond for Twila and Steven Nezbeth of Herner Countyline Road in Southington. Bond for Twila Nezbeth, 50, went from $25,000 to $10,000, and bond for Steven Nezbeth, 40, was reduced from $30,000 to $10,000.

The case against the 10th person, Jennifer Lackner of Bazetta Road in Warren, was reset for 1:30 p.m. Oct. 22.

The seven others whose cases will be heard by a grand jury are Christopher Davis, 39; Gshannon McColor Jr., 21; James B. McColor, 30; and Michael A. Travis, 30, all of Detroit; Darius E. Talley Jr., 35, of Park Avenue, Warren; Kayla Mctheny, 19, of Royal Mall, Niles; and Salena Jones, 19, of West Market Street, Warren.

Each of the 10 is charged with aggravated trafficking in drugs, a first-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison on conviction.

All 10 were arrested in a house on West Market Street near Nevada Avenue, where investigators from the Trumbull Ashtabula Group Law Enforcement Task Force conducted a one-month investigation before heading up a raid there Sept. 15.

They confiscated heroin, crack cocaine, cocaine, OxyContin, marijuana, $10,500 in cash, 10 guns and a bulletproof vest from inside, plus about 16 pit-bull dogs, half of them puppies.

Three juvenile females were also arrested and turned over to juvenile authorities.
