Classical guitarist Stephen Aron will give a free concert at 8 tonight at Bliss Recital Hall at Youngstown State University's Bliss Hall (on Wick Avenue). Aron is the founder of the classical-guitar studies program at Oberlin Conservatory of Music.k

Savoy Brown, led by guitarist Kim Simmonds, have been cited as an influence by many a classic rocker, including Led Zeppelin. The British bluesmen will be in Youngstown tonight for a concert at the Boulevard Stage, which is at the Dash Inn, 2716 Mahoning Ave., on Youngstown's West Side. Show starts at 8 p.m.. Championship Wrestling Experience is putting on a show that it calls Progression Through Aggression at 7:30 p.m. Friday at The Wedge, 1743 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown. Tickets are available in advance for $10 at all Havana House locations and will be sold at the door for $12. Headlining the card will be Gregory Iron vs. Patrick Hayes in a title match. Also, Sexual Harassment will defend its tag-team title against LA Gunz.

Kevin DeOliveira, a 21-year-old film-editing student, has produced a documentary that puts Youngstown's rise and fall into perspective. "Steel Valley: Meltdown" includes interviews with politicians and experts in a very polished and professional production that also looks into the future of the city. The film will premiere at 7:15 p.m. Friday at Ford Family Recital Hall, at the DeYor Center for the Performing Arts, downtown. Admission is free, although donations will be accepted.
