Live Nation offering passport for concerts

LOS ANGELES – Live Nation is offering a concert passport for $49.99 that entitles holders to admission to all shows at its facilities (including House of Blues in Cleveland) for the rest of the year, subject to ability. It is available at www.livenation.com.

Passport holders need only go to livenation.com/clubpassport to see the list of participating shows in their city and to reserve their ticket.

Passport holders then bring their number and photo I.D. to the club’s box office and get right in, with no extra charges.

Pavement reuniting

NEW YORK — Pavement, one of the most influential indie-rock bands of the ’90s, will reunite.

The band’s label, Matador Records, announced the reunion Thursday, confirming long- rumored plans. Pavement will reconvene for a tour — and only a tour — to begin Sept. 21, 2010, at Rumsey Playfield in New York’s Central Park.

Though not hugely commercially successful, the California-based band is widely credited for its influential low-fidelity sound and ramshackle artistry.

Pavement broke up in 2000.

Records show payments to Jackson’s mother

LOS ANGELES — Newly unsealed court records show Michael Jackson’s mother is receiving $86,204 per month from her son’s estate to support herself and her three grandchildren.

The money is being paid by the late pop singer’s estate.

Katherine Jackson is one of the primary beneficiaries of her son’s estate along with the singer’s three young children and unnamed charities.

A judge approved a monthly stipend for Katherine Jackson and her three grandchildren in August. The amount had been sealed until Thursday.

Katherine Jackson has been named the children’s permanent guardian. They are living at the Jackson family home in the San Fernando Valley.
