Reserve tops Lowellville


BERLIN CENTER — Senior QB Shane Ewing completed 17 of 25 passes for 278 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Western Reserve High football team, which stayed in playoff contention with a 58-14 win over Lowellville in an Inter Tri-County League Tier Two game on Friday.

Riley Sheptock caught six passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns for Reserve (9-1, 6-1 ITCL Tier Two), which took a 37-0 halftime lead.

Clayton Hull caught six passes for 56 yards and a TD. Paul Arditi ran seven times for 43 yards and a TD and Ewing added a TD run.

Lowellville (5-5, 5-2) saw its five-game winning streak snapped. The Rockets did not report any statistics.

Reserve entered the night ranked seventh in the Division VI, Region 21 computer ratings and its playoff future hinges on today’s game between Monroeville and Norwalk St. Paul.

Jackson-Milton 21, Southern 14

NORTH JACKSON — Jackson-Milton (3-7, 2-5 ITCL Tier Two) rolled up 232 yards rushing and took a 14-0 halftime lead en route to the win.

Bryan Brinker rushed 14 times for 50 yards for Southern (3-7, 1-6), while Zach Puckett and Luke Griffith each had 1-yard TD runs in the fourth quarter.

Jackson-Milton did not report any statistics.

United 41, Lisbon 14

LISBON — Josh McLaughlin accounted for 402 total yards of offense and was a part of four of United’s (5-5, 4-3) touchdowns, keeping Lisbon from earning its first victory of the season.

McLaughlin gave United the early lead in the first quarter with a 20-yard run. McLaughlin then connected with Zane Smith on a 24-yard pass to give the Eagles an early 14-point lead. Brett Ward would add to the margin with a 24-yard touchdown run, and McLaughlin would connect with Smith again, this time for 41 yards. Mike McLaughlin finished out the scoring with a 17-yard catch.

Lisbon got on the board when Robert Wilcox ran in from 3 yards out, but Ward answered right back with a touchdown of his own. The Blue Devils’ other score came on a Danny Reese 16-yard run.

Wellsville 31, Sebring 14

SEBRING — Wellsville improved to 7-3, 4-3 ITCL Tier Two as Sebring fell to 1-9, 0-7 ITCL.

Neither team reported any statistics on the game.
