Poll shows Ohioans' swine-flu worries rise sharply

COLUMBUS (AP) — A new poll shows more than half of Ohioans are worried that they or someone they live with will contract swine flu.

The finding reflects a sharp increase in concern about the H1N1 virus from an earlier poll of registered voters conducted in May.

The University of Cincinnati’s Ohio Poll shows 54 percent of Ohioans are worried about getting sick, and about a third plan to be vaccinated.

The results are from a phone poll of 808 adults conducted between Oct. 14 and Oct. 20. The results are accurate to plus or minus 3.4 percent.

In May, a Quinnipiac University poll of Ohio voters found only 28 percent were “somewhat worried” or “very worried” that they or someone close to them would get the flu.
