Pittsburgh fugitive arrested in witness murder

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A Pittsburgh man accused of killing a woman who was to testify in the fatal shooting of her brother has been captured.

Police say they captured 26-year-old Charles Cabiness on this morning. He’s been taken to homicide detectives for questioning.

Cabiness is charged with homicide and related charges for the Aug. 22 killing of 38-year-old Monnica Gay, of Wilkinsburg. Witnesses say Cabiness walked up to Gay and shot her in the head.

Police say Cabiness’ brother, 21-year-old Luzay Watson, shot Gay’s brother, Davon Young, on May 14 over a money dispute.

Gay was set to testify against Watson but declined to participate in the city’s witness protection program.
