A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Hubbard and Liberty:

GIRARD

Oct. 23

Burglary: Took place in the 800 block of North Highland Avenue after someone cut a screen. An Xbox system and related items were taken.

Oct. 24

Menacing: An Elruth Court woman told police her teenage daughter had received a threatening message from the girl’s former boyfriend.

Menacing: A woman at a sporting event near Highland Avenue told authorities her former husband had threatened to hurt her.

Oct. 25

Burglary: To a home in the 1500 block of Norwood Street, at which musical equipment was removed from the basement. Also, a 52-inch TV and a home-theater system were missing from another part of the house.

Oct. 26

Breaking and entering: A rear sliding-glass door was ajar at a residence in the 900 block of Woodlawn Avenue, where a 26-inch TV was stolen.

Aggravated menacing: An employee of a Market Street restaurant reported getting 15 to 20 calls at work containing various threats, including one to kill her.

HUBBARD

Oct. 23

Arrest: Girard Municipal Court issued a warrant against a Hubbard man wanted on a charge of receiving stolen property.

Breaking and entering: A break-in occurred in the 300 block of Erie Street.

Burglary: To a residence in the 800 block of Park Avenue, at which a gun cabinet was entered. Missing was a firearm.

Possible theft: A woman said she believed her purse had been stolen from her driveway in the 500 block of Sunset Drive.

Oct. 24

Criminal damaging: Someone drove through and damaged a portion of a lawn in the 1100 block of Palmetto Drive.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s window was broken in the 600 block of Raymond Drive.

Criminal mischief: Two pumpkins were smashed in a yard in the 600 block of Gary Drive.

Oct. 25

Theft: Two male juveniles wearing baseball caps left Walgreen’s Pharmacy, 15 S. Main St., after having stolen merchandise.

Arrest: A Hubbard man was detained in Warren. He was wanted on a charge of failure to appear in court on one count of disorderly conduct.

Oct. 26

Arrest: The Girard Municipal Court issued a warrant against a township man wanted on a charge of failing to appear for a violation-of-probation hearing.

LIBERTY

Oct. 22

Assault/theft: A Monticello Boulevard woman alleged her boyfriend shoved her to the floor during an argument, then took her cell phone.

Theft: A 48-year-old Youngstown man was charged, accused of stealing $14 worth of food from Rite Aid Pharmacy, 2704 Belmont Ave.

Aggravated menacing: Officers responded to a female waving a gun at a Belmont Avenue store, where the woman told them she had a cap gun. A Western Reserve Transit Authority bus driver said she felt threatened by the person, and police confiscated the weapon.

Burglary: In the 1300 block of West Montrose Avenue, where the front door lock had been jimmied. A computer worth $1,100, a flat-screen monitor and a printer were missing, for an estimated loss of $1,760.

Oct. 23

Burglary: Occurred in the 3000 block of Hadley Avenue. Stolen were a purse, $100 and a cell phone.

Theft: Two Youngstown women, 48 and 58, were charged with stealing a two-pack of T-shirts, two bottles of hand sanitizer and other items from Wal-Mart, 200 Goldie Road. One woman also was charged with obstructing official business when, police said, she provided a false Social Security number.

Theft: A Youngstown woman, 21, was charged with filling a shopping cart with $154 worth of groceries and leaving Aldi food store, 3497 Belmont Ave., without paying.

Theft: Twenty-eight Percocet tablets were stolen from a medicine cabinet at a Logan Gate Road apartment.

Burglary: To a home in the 200 block of Warner Road via a rear window. Among the property stolen were two handguns and a wristwatch.

Oct. 24

A Sony PlayStation game was taken from Wal-Mart, resulting in a 17-year-old Girard boy’s being detained.

Burglary: Nothing appeared to have been stolen or disturbed after someone entered a residence in the 1600 block of Lincoln Avenue through a rear garage window.

Burglary: Police received a tip regarding a person wanted on a charge and took into custody a 28-year-old Niles man in the 3400 block of Belmont Avenue.

Oct. 25

Domestic violence: A 38-year-old Church Hill Road man was arrested at his residence on a warrant from Mahoning County Court No. 2 in Boardman.

Theft: Youngstown police handed a city woman, 18, to Liberty authorities. She was wanted on a charge of failure to appear in court to face a theft count.

Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop near Ventura Drive resulted in a 46-year-old Girard man’s being charged when, a report said, a suspected crack cocaine pipe was found wrapped in a napkin.

Theft: Two female juveniles were detained after five gold rings, makeup and lipstick had been stolen from Wal-Mart.

Assault: A Hadley Avenue woman told police her former boyfriend grabbed her throat after she asked him to leave and he refused.

Robbery: A Youngstown man, 39, was charged after a bottle of saline solution was stolen from Wal-Mart. The man became combative when security personnel tried to detain him and a struggle ensued, a report said.

Oct. 26

Arrest: The U.S. Marshals Task Force took into custody a Youngstown woman, 26, wanted on an outstanding warrant from the township charging her with violation of her probation related to a drug charge.

Fraud: A Keefer Road man received his credit-card bill and noticed several charges he never made.

Threats: A Marla Lane man got a call threatening him with bodily harm.

Theft: A $120 MP3 player was removed from a vehicle in the 1600 block of Shannon Road.

Theft: Someone took a $150 video-game system from a car in the 5000 block of Sampson Road.
