Browns QB is lowest-rated signal caller in NFL

BEREA, Ohio (AP) — As personal policy, Browns quarterback Derek Anderson isn’t looking at his statistics. He knows they’re not pretty.

“I honestly know they are garbage,” he said today. “I haven’t looked at them since I started playing.”

Good thing. Anderson is currently the lowest-rated quarterback in the NFL with a 40.6 mark. In Anderson’s last three games, he has completed 23 of 70 passes.

Anderson, though, feels he has learned more this season — his fifth — than during any in his career. He’s grateful for the support he has received from coach Eric Mangini, who is sticking with him despite a 1-3 mark since replacing Brady Quinn as Cleveland’s starter.

Anderson believes Cleveland’s offense, which has produced four touchdowns all season, is coming around.
