STAFF REPORT

YOUNGSTOWN— October begins a new monthly program at the Children’s Center for Science & Technology, 139 E. Boardman St.

The Healthy Behavioral Rotating Exhibit on flu awareness is for grades two through six and is organized by the NEO HealthForce STAT (Start Teaching Adolescents Today) Committee. The sponsor for October is Humility of Mary Health Partners.

The committee’s goal is to create “a pipeline program targeting youth ... in the tri-county area,” according to the center’s press release.

This Wednesday’s “Science Wednesdays at the Museum” is canceled, but there will be free admission from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 4.

An “Amazing Sideshow of Science” is planned for noon to 12:40 p.m. and 12:45 to 1:25 p.m. Saturday. Dr. Ray Beiersdorfer will perform at the event.

The museum’s November events include local meteorologist Mark Monstrola from WFMJ TV-21, who will feature “Lunch Box Weather” from the center Nov. 10 and 24.

Story time for infants through age 5 will be from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 27 and will be filmed by Armstrong Cable. Admission is free.

The center is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. It is closed Sunday and Monday.

Admission is free for center members and children age 2 and younger; $4 for seniors; and $5 for adults and children. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
