HERMITAGE, Pa. — Whispering Oaks Retirement Community, 260 S. Buhl Farm Drive, has scheduled a series of silent auctions to raise money to pay the postage on mailing gifts to soldiers.
Bids will be accepted at the following events: Oct. 31, from 2 to 4 p.m. during a Halloween Carnival featuring the music of Tammie O’Marrie; Nov. 5, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at a Creative Food Choices Workshop where executive chefs will provide culinary confections; and Nov. 7, from 2 to 5 p.m. during performances by Penn-Ohio Singers and Picks and Hammers.
A contribution of $5, or donations of non-perishable items for the packages, will be requested at each event. For more information call (724) 347-3050.
