NILES — Superintendent Rocco Adduci and the board of education had hoped for a sizable turnout for Tuesday evening’s community meeting to discuss plans for three new school buildings.

Although about 25 people attended the meeting in the Niles McKinley High School cafeteria, the majority were either members of the board, school administrators or faculty. The purpose of the session was to update plans for the new high school and two elementary schools, all of which are in the preliminary design phase.

Architect Gary Balog showed some graphics depicting the layout of the buildings. Adduci said he would have enlargements in the board office for public viewing and also put them on the school’s Web site “within a week.”
