Senior Expo to feature vendors, exhibitors

Exhibitors will be on hand to discuss health care, long-term care and other senior-citizen issues.

GROVE CITY — More than 60 vendors and exhibitors will offer information and answer questions at Pennsylvania state Rep. Dick Stevenson’s Ninth Annual Senior Expo, set for 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Grove City College.

“From prescription-drug assistance to health screenings and recreation opportunities, senior citizens can learn more about a variety of federal, state and local programs at the expo,” Stevenson said. “I encourage all seniors in the 8th District in Mercer and Butler counties to stop by and ask questions about any senior-oriented program or service in which they may be interested.”

Exhibitors will also be on hand to discuss health care, prescriptions, long-term care, safe driving, Meals on Wheels and post-retirement living.

A new offering this year will be free flu shots for veterans and their spouses from the Veterans Administration. If residents have received veterans services in the past, they are included in the VA’s database and will not need to bring any accompanying information. Veterans and spouses who have not received VA services will need to bring their DD214 papers as verification of veteran status.

The expo, which will be in the college’s intramural room, is open to people age 55 and older and their families.

There is no admission fee to attend, and refreshments and door prizes will be offered.
