Capt. Centorame dies
YOUNGSTOWN — A longtime member of the city police department has lost his battle with leukemia.
Capt. Kenneth Centorame, a 30-year department veteran, died Saturday. Arrangements, which were pending as of Saturday evening, are under the direction of the Fabrizio Funeral Home.
Centorame had led the department’s detective division since 2006. He battled the disease for several months.
300 attend Altmire health-care forum
AMBRIDGE, PA. — More than 300 western Pennsylvanians turned out Saturday for U.S. Rep. Jason Altmire’s town hall on health-care reform.
“My No. 1 priority is ensuring that we take the steps needed to lower health-care costs for families and small businesses,” Altmire, D-4, said. “I will also fight to make sure that any bill we pass in Congress preserves what works in our current system and does not add one penny to the federal deficit.”
Submit 2010 events
The Trumbull County Tourism Bureau is collecting information for its 2010 Calendar of Events. All local organizations and groups are encouraged to submit their Trumbull County event information for inclusion in next year’s publication by Oct. 30.

Agent Orange seminar Monday in New Castle
NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Agent Orange will be the topic when Lawrence County Veterans’ Affairs Director Shirley Noga presents her monthly benefits seminar.
The meeting is set for 10 a.m. to noon Monday in the county commissioners’ meeting room in the basement of the Lawrence County Government Center. Noga said Vietnam Veterans who believe they were exposed to Agent Orange should attend.
Dan Slack of the Butler County veterans office will bring a map of heavily sprayed areas and will discuss various locations where exposure occurred. Noga also pointed out that October has been designated Agent Orange Awareness Month because of a resolution introduced by Pa. State Rep. Jaret Gibbons, D-10.
