Mount Union 44, Heidelberg 14

TIFFIN — Top-ranked Mount Union scored 14 points off two Heidelberg turnovers in the first two minutes en route to a record-setting day in an Ohio Athletic Conference game. Quarterback Kurt Rocco, wide reciever Cecil Shorts III and running back Terrance Morring all had career days to lead Mount Union (6-0, 5-0 OAC), which out-gained Heidelberg (1-5, 0-5), 536-333. Rocco completed 24 of 34 passes with career-bests in yards (406, fourth-best in MUC history) and TD passes (four). Shorts caught a career-high 13 receptions for 297 yards and two touchdowns. Morring tallied a career-high 22 carries for 108 yards and two scores. Heidelberg QB Andrew Miller was picked off on the first play from scrimmage by Raider safety Alex Ferrara . Three plays later Morring scored from 1 yard out. Heidelberg then fumbled the ensuing kickoff, which was recovered by James Coppeler to give Mount Union the ball on the 17-yard line. Two plays late, Rocco hit receiver Vince Petruziello for a 21-yard TD pass to make it 14-0 in the game’s first two minutes. Linebacker Judd Lutz had a team-best nine tackles in his hometown on his high school field to lead a Mount Union defense that had four sacks and forced three turnovers. Mount Union extended the nation’s longest winning streak to 21 games and the nation’s longest regular-season winning streak to 39 games. The Raiders have won 93 consecutive regular season road games.

Westminster 31, Bethany 28

BETHANY, W.Va. — Westminster won a consecutive conference game for the first time since 2003 as the Titans (3-4, 2-2) won a Presidents’ Athletic Conference game. Westminster senior tailback Nick McKolosky posted his 11th career 100-yard rushing game as he carried 27 times for 107 yards and a 6-yard touchdown run in the third quarter that gave Westminster a 31-14 lead. Titan sophomore quarterback Shawn Lehocky, who platooned at the quarterback position his entire career but made his first career start Saturday, nearly rushed for 100 yards for a second straight game. Lehocky rushed 16 times for 98 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown run in the second quarter that gave Westminster a 17-0 lead. Bethany (2-4, 1-3) outgained Westminster 321-312 in total yards; however, most of those yards came from Bethany running back Eric Walker late in the game. Westminster limited Bethany to just 15 yards rushing with three minutes left in the third quarter, before Walker finished the game with 136 yards on 20 attempts, including three touchdowns.

Thomas More 17, Grove City 7

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. — Sophomore linebacker Jason Ferguson (Mineral Ridge) racked up a game-high 14 tackles in a losing effort for Grove City. Senior quarterback Andrew DiDonato completed 12 of 25 passes for 75 yards. Sophomore wingback Clayton Hall caught two passes for 22 yards while sophomore wide receiver Will McCoy (had two catches for 21 yards. Grove City limited Thomas More, ranked 21st in the D3Football.com poll, to just 53 passing yards and a 4-for-14 effort on third downs. However, Thomas More held the Wolverines to 200 total yards and a 3-for-15 performance on third down. Grove City jumped out to a 7-0 lead with 5:36 left in the first quarter as junior wide receiver Zach Summy took an end around and lofted a 28-yard touchdown pass to sophomore tight end Anthony Reda. Thomas More sealed the win in the closing moments as Cordario Collier scored on a 29-yard run with 2:11 left. Collier’s run came on third-and-7.

Earlham (Ind.) 10, Hiram 7

HIRAM — Glenn Campbell caught six passes for 85 yards and a 6-yard TD with 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 10-7 but the Terriers (0-6, 0-4) couldn’t get any closer. Brendan Rehor completed 10 of 26 passes for 128 yards and an interception and Chris Austin rushed 29 times for 104 yards for Hiram. Earlham managed just 146 total yards to 247 for Hiram, but took a 10-0 lead just before halftime on a 25-yard fumble recovery for a TD by Collin Draine.

Geneva 49, Waynesburg 39

WAYNESBURG, Pa. — It wasn’t a happy homecoming for Waynesburg (3-3), which turned the ball over five times (four interceptions, one fumble) in a loss to Geneva. The Golden Tornadoes (5-1) showcased a balanced offense that combined for 211 yards rushing with 158 yards passing for 369 total offensive yards. Gerard Muschette had a game-high 136 yards and two touchdowns. He added two catches for 33 yards and a third score. Waynesburg freshman defensive tackle Matt Krause (Ursuline) made quite an impression in his first collegiate start by racking up a game-high 12 tackles (six solo hits), two tackles for loss and a sack. WR Ray Hightower (Ursuline) had five catches for 66 yards and a touchdown. Billy Becker paced the Waynesburg offense with 129 yards and three scores on just 16 carries. Brad Dawson had his sixth-straight game this year of at least 200 yards passing by hitting on 14-of-29 passes for 212 yards, a touchdown and four interceptions.

Gannon 51, Slippery Rock 48

ERIE, Pa. — In a game that featured more than 1,000 yards of total offense, Gannon held on to win a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western division game. Trailing by three with 47 seconds left to play, Rock redshirt sophomore quarterback Rocco Colavecchia was intercepted in the Gannon end zone to seal the win for the Golden Knights. Gannon quarterback Zach Boedicker threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 108 yards and another TD to lead the Golden Knights, while Jon Richardson rushed for 115 yards and two TDs. Colavecchia finished the game completing 15-of-32 passes for 266 yards and two touchdowns, all of which were season-high totals. He also ran for 19 yards and two touchdowns and was intercepted three times, all in the second half.
