Woman, 61, injured in low-speed police chase

BUTLER — A 61-year-old woman is in police custody after failing to stop for police during a routine traffic stop.

According to police, officers attempted to stop Phyllis Connor, of Butler, Saturday on McKean Street in Butler, but the woman refused to stop, leading police on a low-speed traffic chase through various parts of the city’s West End. Police ultimately used patrol cars to force the woman to stop.

Police reports say Connor did sustain minor injuries from broken glass during the forced stop. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries and a mental evaluation.
