SUV struck by car after flipping over; no serious injuries

WARREN — An SUV flipped over to avoid striking a farm tractor, and another car hit the overturned vehicle, but there were no serious injuries in the Saturday accident.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol Southington post said James Rasey, 17, of Southington was driving a Chevrolet Blazer on state Route 46 in Greene Township around 6:43 p.m. when he came upon the tractor, which was pulling a trailer and did not have any lights. The driver was Robert Miner, 52, of North Bloomfield.

Police said Rasey swerved to avoid the tractor and flipped the SUV in the road.

He got out and stood by the road to wait for police. A car driven by Sindy Gwynn, 17, of North Bloomfield struck the Blazer.

Both drivers received minor injuries.

Miner was cited for not having lights. Gwynn was cited for failing to assure clear distance, police said.
