No. 5 Notre Dame 84, No. 23 San Diego State 79

ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands — Freshman Skyler Diggins scored 21 points to lead Notre Dame to an 84-79 victory over San Diego State in the Paradise Jam. The win was Notre Dame coach Muffet McGraw’s 500th at the school and 588th overall. The Irish (4-0) jumped out to a 21-point lead in the first half and led 44-29 at the break. The Aztecs whittled it down to 81-79 with 29 seconds left before Brittany Mallory made three of four free throws to seal the win. Jene Morris scored 32 points to lead San Diego State (3-1), which was ranked this week for the first time in 14 years. Quenese Davis added 25 points and nine assists. Lindsay Schrader scored 16 points for Notre Dame, and Mallory finished with 15.

No. 9 Xavier 76, No. 18 Kansas 71

FREEPORT, Bahamas — Amber Harris scored 22 points and had nine rebounds to help Xavier beat Kansas at the Junkanoo Jam. Xavier (4-0) led 72-67 with 50 seconds left after Harris made two free throws. Kansas then hit four straight from the foul line to make it 72-71 with 27 seconds remaining. Harris then made two more free throws and after a defensive stop, Special Jennings sealed the win from the foul line. She finished with 17 points. Ta’Shia Phillips added 12 points and 11 rebounds. Danielle McCray led Kansas (3-1) with 23 points.

No. 10 Duke 70, Western Kentucky 47

CANCUN, Mexico — Jasmine Thomas scored 20 points and Duke beat Western Kentucky. The Blue Devils (4-1) led by nine at halftime and opened up the second half with a 14-3 run over the first 6 minutes to take control of the game. Western Kentucky cut its deficit to 15 on Kenzie Rich’s 3-pointer that made it 42-27, but the Blue Devils quickly stretched the lead back to 20 and put the game away. Courtney Clifton scored 11 points to lead the Lady Toppers (3-1). Lashay Davis added 10.

No. 15 Virginia 84, Indiana 79

FREEPORT, Bahamas — Monica Wright had 22 points and 11 rebounds to help Virginia beat Indiana at the Junkanoo Jam. Whitny Edwards added 17 points and China Crosby had 12 points and seven assists for the Cavaliers (4-1), who advanced to the championship game of the Reef Division. Virginia will face South Dakota State today. Jori Davis scored 33 points and Linsday Whitney added 15 for Indiana (3-2).

No. 20 Oklahoma 75, South Carolina 67

ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands — Nyeshia Stevenson scored 16 points and Oklahoma used a second-half surge to hold off South Carolina in the Paradise Jam. The Sooners (3-1) built a 20-point lead midway through the first half before South Carolina rallied to within 45-43 with 14:07 left in the game. Oklahoma countered with a 9-0 run to restore a 11-point advantage. South Carolina (2-2) wasn’t finished, closing to 67-64 with 4:50 left, but could get no closer.
