YOUNGSTOWN — Police have arrested a city man believed responsible for two armed robberies this month.

Aaron Keyes, 18, of Rush Boulevard, appeared Wednesday before Judge Robert Douglas in Youngstown Municipal Court on two counts of aggravated robbery and drug charges. Judge Douglas set bond at $202,500.

According to police, Keyes walked into the Taco Bell Restaurant on Market Street near Midlothian Boulevard at 10:45 a.m. Nov. 7 with a black cover over his face and pointed a small handgun at the manager demanding money. Police say Keyes ran out of the store with about $250 from two cash registers.

Police took a full description of the robber and surveillance video of the robbery.

Police say Keyes also is responsible for robbing a 55-year-old Everett Street man in the driveway of his home Saturday afternoon.

According to police, the man was standing in his driveway after getting off work when he noticed a car pull into the driveway of a neighbor. The man told police the passenger, believed to be Keyes, got out of the car, walked over to him and pulled out a gun demanding money.

The man told police he handed over $48, and the thief ran back to the car.

Police arrested Keyes at his home Wednesday morning.
