CAMPBELL — The city has been hit by a rash of burglaries in the last two weeks, most of them during daytime hours, police report.

Burglars have kicked in or pried open doors while homeowners are gone, said officer John Gulu.

Jewelry and electronics seem to be popular targets, police reports indicate.

Gulu said police believe the burglaries are being committed by the same people.

The most recent burglary was Monday. An Andrews Avenue home-owner told police he’d left for work around 4:40 p.m. Sunday, and when he returned home, he discovered a front window smashed and a TV and a watch missing. Two Penhale Avenue homes were burglarized Friday. The back window was broken sometime between 8:30 and 9:40 p.m. A flat-screen TV was stolen.

The second Penhale burglary was sometime between 2:30 and 7 p.m. Burglars went in through an unlocked door and took electronics including a laptop and several game systems.

On Thursday, a home on Devitt Avenue was hit. Police were called to the home after the burglary occurred at 12:22 p.m. A Wii console, a watch and a wedding band were missing.

The burglars worked on Blossom Avenue between Nov. 15 and Thursday. Sometime during those dates, a front door at a home in the 600 block was kicked in. A flat-screen TV and jewelry were taken. All the rooms in the home were ransacked, the police report says.

In the 500 block on Nov. 17, the front door of a home was forced open sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 7:17 p.m. Neighbors reported seeing two men in a faded red SUV sitting in the driveway there.

On Nov. 16, a homeowner called police to report the side door to his house was kicked in. Police found a jewelry box on the floor and a cell phone that didn’t belong to the homeowners.

On Nov. 12, an apartment on Kendall Street was burglarized. Some time between 9:15 a.m. and 9:30 p.m., burglars pried open the front door and took a TV and $20.

Police said all of the burglaries are still under investigation.
