CINCINNATI — Freshman Katie Rutan made three consecutive 3s during a first-half run that put Xavier ahead to stay, and had a steal and layup that ended Arizona State’s comeback. Xavier (2-0) never trailed after Rutan came off the bench to lead a 13-point run. She also had a steal and layup after the Sun Devils (2-1) cut the lead to 38-36 in the second half. Xavier pulled away by holding the Sun Devils to one basket in the next 11 minutes.

No. 7 LSU 72, Houston 54

BATON ROUGE, La. — Freshman reserve Adrienne Webb scored 17 points to lead LSU over Houston. LSU senior guard Allison Hightower scored 16 points and Katherine Graham had a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds. Taylor Turnbow added 12 points for LSU (3-0). Courtney Taylor led Houston (3-1) with 18 points and nine rebounds.

No. 20 Oklahoma 74 TCU 70

NORMAN, Okla. — Abi Olajuwon scored a career-high 23 points and Danielle Robinson added 16 as Oklahoma bounced back from its first loss of the season to beat TCU. Olajuwon, the daughter of former NBA player Hakeem Olajuwon, steadied the Sooners (2-1) inside during another poor performance from 3-point range.
