A checklist of local, state and federal institutions and local businesses closed various days for the Thanksgiving holiday. Residents of communities not listed should check their governmental office schedules.

City offices: Youngstown, Salem, closed Thursday; Warren, Niles, New Castle, Newton Falls Municipal Court, closed Thursday and Friday; Sharon, closed Thursday, Friday and Monday.

County offices: Mahoning, Columbiana, closed Thursday; Trumbull, Mercer, closed Thursday and Friday; Lawrence, closed Monday through Friday.

All state offices: Closed Thursday.

Federal offices: U.S. Post Office, Youngstown, Warren, closed Thursday, no home delivery; Federal Bankruptcy Court, District Court, closed Thursday and Friday.

Schools: Youngstown, Niles, Salem, closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; Warren, closed Thursday and Friday; Sharon, closed Thursday, Friday and Monday; New Castle, closed Wednesday through Monday; Youngstown Diocese, call your schools.

One-Stop Workforce Centers: The One-Stop Workforce Centers of Mahoning and Columbiana Counties and the Mahoning & Columbiana Training Association offices in Youngstown, closed Thursday and Friday.

Universities: Youngstown State, closed Thursday and Friday; Kent State Trumbull Campus, closed Thursday through Sunday.

Western Reserve Transit Authority (WRTA): Closed Thursday.

Public libraries: Youngstown-Mahoning County, McKinley Memorial Library, Niles, closed Thursday; Warren-Trumbull, closing at 6 p.m. Wednesday and closed Thursday; Kinsman Free Public Library, Hubbard Public Library, closed Thursday and Friday; Girard Free Library, Newton Falls Public Library, closing at 5 p.m. Wednesday and closed Thursday; Bristol Public Library, Bristolville, closed Thursday and Friday.

Stock market: Stifel Nicolaus, closed Thursday.

Banks: Chase Bank, Charter One, Cortland Banks, Farmers National Bank, First National Bank, First Place Bank, Warren, Home Federal Savings & Loan, Niles, Home Savings & Loan, Huntington Bank, Key Bank, PNC, Federal Plaza, PNC, US Bank in Poland, Boardman, Canfield and Warren area; closed Thursday.
