Man dies, had been stunned by police
WASHINGTON, Pa. (AP) — Authorities in western Pennsylvania say a man has died days after police subdued him with a stun gun.
The Washington County coroner says 49-year-old Ronald Petruney died just before 7 a.m. Saturday at Washington Hospital.
Coroner Tim Warco says an autopsy will be done to determine the cause and manner of death.
Officials say Petruney went into cardiac arrest on Tuesday after he was stunned by police.
Police say officers had been trying to help Petruney when he became combative, swung at one officer and bit another at least three times. Police filed aggravated assault and other charges against him.
