Children’s Aid Society plans holiday fundraiser

MERCER, Pa. — Holiday baked goods and punch will greet guests during a “Christmas Celebration for Children” event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3 and 4 at the Children’s Aid Society, 350 W. Market St.
Featured at the Christmas event will be homemade rolls, breads, pies, cookies and candy for sale. There will also be holiday baskets and items for gift-giving.
Planned by Friends of Children’s Aid Society of Mercer County, the event will provide financial backing for the agency’s Christmas giving projects.
In 2008 the group realized $1,500 from its Christmas fundraiser, helping the nonprofit agency to provide clothing, toys and necessities for 3,500 families and children during the Christmas season.
The society is also accepting orders until Nov. 27 for poinsettias in four colors, fresh evergreen wreaths, door or window swags, and white pine roping to be picked up at the society office during the “Christmas Celebration for Children.”
