Home of Ohio man accused of drowning his wife to be sold
LEBANON, Ohio (AP) — Court records show the home once shared by an Ohio man and the wife he is accused of drowning in a bathtub is scheduled for sale at a sheriff’s auction.
Ryan Widmer is awaiting a second trial in the death of his wife, Sarah. He was convicted in April of killing her at their home in Hamilton Township in August 2008. His conviction was overturned by a judge after allegations of juror misconduct during deliberations.
Widmer is awaiting a new trial in March and is currently free on bond.
Records show the home in Hamilton Township in Warren County is valued at $165,000 and Widmer owes more than $189,000 on the mortgage, taxes and court fees.
The sale is scheduled for Jan. 11.
