Ohio airports report no big problems from FAA glitch

CINCINNATI (AP) — Airports serving Ohio travelers report no major problems from a glitch in an FAA system that collects airlines’ flight plans.

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport says there have been minor delays for departures. Airport spokeswoman Barb Schempf says Delta Air Lines has reported 30-minute delays for flights out of Cincinnati. There are about 254 daily departures from the airport and most of those are Delta flights.

Schempf says aircraft are having to file flight plans manually instead of electronically.

Web sites for other airports around Ohio show only scattered delays, if any. A spokeswoman for Cleveland Hopkins airport says the worst it has seen was a 15-minute holdup for a Continental Airlines flight.
