2 men arrested in Warren Township on drug charges

STAFF REPORT

WARREN — Law-enforcement officers took possession of a pound of suspected cocaine, a handgun and $10,513 in cash from a home on Seventh Street in Warren Township while serving a search warrant.

The drug operation is connected to last week’s arrest of Warren residents who possessed about 9 pounds of cocaine in Utah, the Trumbull Ashtabula Group Law Enforcement Task Force said in a press release.

Police charged two men reportedly connected to the operation: Michael Salsgiver, 37, of Seventh Street, and Rogelio Dominguez-Rojas, 24, of Mexico, who TAG says is living in the United States illegally.

TAG has been investigating the operation for a week and served the search warrant Sunday with the assistance of the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Warren Township Police Department and the Fowler Police Department canine unit.

Salsgiver and Dominguez- Rojas each face a charge of drug trafficking, and Salsgiver faces an additional charge of being a convicted felon in illegal possession of a firearm.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency has been contacted by the task force regarding Dominguez-Rojas, TAG said.

There also were two juveniles at the residence and a woman from the Toledo area. The juveniles were released without charges. Charges are pending against the woman, however, according to task-force officials.
