STATE PATROL

2009 Trooper of the Year

Trooper Bradley M. Bucey of the Ohio State Highway Patrol has been selected as the 2009 Trooper of the Year at the Canfield Patrol Post.

The selection of Bucey, 31, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2009 at the Canfield Post, according to a patrol press release.

Fellow officers stationed at the Canfield Post chose Bucey based on his leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude and his cooperation with supervisors, peers and the public.

Bucey is now in contention for the Warren District and State Trooper of the Year awards.

Bucey joined the patrol in September 2000. He was commissioned as a trooper in March 2001 and assigned to the Defiance Post, where he remained until transferring to the Canfield Post in April 2006.

He lives in Leetonia with his wife, Lesley, and their two children, Andrew and Ava.
