Brief power outage hits part of downtown, South Side

YOUNGSTOWN — About 3,700 Ohio Edison customers on the city’s South Side and downtown were without power for a time today. A transformer at the company’s Indianola Avenue substation stopped working at 1:44 p.m. and power was out until 2:09 p.m., said Paul Harkey, the company’s area manager.
