Starting Wednesday: Lane restrictions on Route 11 and I-80

AUSTINTOWN — Lane restrictions on two major township traffic routes will go into effect Wednesday.

From 5:30 to 10:30 a.m. Mahoning Avenue over state Route 11 will be reduced to one lane during specialized crane operations.

The construction is part of a $7 million project by the Ohio Department of Transportation to re-deck and paint bridges over state Route 11 at Mahoning Avenue as well as Western Reserve, Kirk and New roads.

The entire project is scheduled for completion by late August 2009.

From 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on Interstate 80, between the Ohio Turnpike and the Interstate 80/state Route 11 interchange, for pavement marking.

The $91.5 million ODOT project includes the reconstruction and replacement of the existing 2,500-foot twin bridges over the Meander Creek Reservoir and slated for completion by October 2009.
