Pittsburgh police want man in female jogger attack

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh police are investigating a bizarre attack on a female jogger.

Police say a man grabbed the victim by the hair and tried to push or drag her into a wooded area near the trail under the Veterans Bridge sometime after 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say the woman kicked and screamed her way to freedom then saw some bicyclists who chased the man into the wooded area and called for help. Police arrived with a dog, but couldn’t find the man.

Witnesses say the man yelled, “Sorry, I thought you were someone else” as he ran away from the woman.

Police have made no arrests in the case.
