YOUNGSTOWN — Crews have begun work on the Cathedral of St. Columba on West Wood Street on Youngstown’s lower North Side.

Steve Yates of Kansas and Bovard Studio Inc. of Iowa worked on the grout as the stained-glass windows were removed, restored and replaced Tuesday.

The stained-glass restoration is being handled by HMH Restoration Ltd, under the director of LZ Construction Management LLC of Boardman and Braun and Steidl Architects of Columbus.

The roof, masonry and bell tower are part of the restoration to be completed in late fall.
