Canfield Police officers serve a warrant at the El Patio Motel in Canfield in order to search the premises for evidence of prostitution on Thursday afternoon.

STAFF REPORT

CANFIELD — Four employees involved in prostitution at the El Patio and Canfield Colonial motels have pleaded guilty to charges.

Patricia Jordan, 51, El Patio manager, and Melissa Mang, 23, and Mike Fayne, 27, both employees at the Canfield Colonial Motel, were charged with procuring prostitution. They were sentenced Friday to 180 days in jail suspended, 12 months’ probation and a $100 fine.

Mark Dean Sr., 45, an El Patio employee, was charged with soliciting prostitution. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail suspended, 12 months’ probation and a $100 fine.

The four were arrested after the Canfield Police Department and the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department served warrants at Canfield Colonial, 7815 Akron-Canfield Road, and El Patio, 485 W. Main St., April 16 to collect evidence in a two-month investigation.

Canfield Detective Brian McGivern said two Youngstown police officers who were from the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force were sent in undercover four weeks ago to gather evidence.

The owner of both motels, Arthur Klein, 67, has been indicted by the Mahoning County grand jury on charges of promoting prostitution and conspiracy to promote prostitution with forfeiture specifications.
