Ex-Valley pastor to give key speech at Heart Reach Ministries banquet

YOUNGS-TOWN — The Rev. Gary Frost, director of Emerging Leadership with the New York City Leadership Center, will be the keynote speaker at the 21st annual banquet of Heart Reach Ministries Inc. It will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Victory Christian Center, 3899 McCartney Road, Lowellville.

A former resident of the Mahoning Valley, the Rev. Mr. Frost also is pastor of Evergreen Baptist Church, Brooklyn, N.Y. He served as executive director of Metropolitan New York Baptist Association from 2004 to 2007.

Earlier, Mr. Frost served three years at the North American Mission Board in Alpharetta, Ga., as vice president of Strategic Partnerships Group.

While in the Valley, Mr. Frost was senior pastor of Rising Star Baptist Church. He served as co-chairman of the Spiritual Board of Overseers for the Greater Youngstown Coalition of Christians, president of Eagle Heights Academy and president of Warriors Inc.

Mr. Frost and his wife, Lynette, have six children and also have been foster parents for 19 years.

The Market Street Muppets will perform, and a silent auction is planned.

Heart Reach Ministries is a nonprofit organization that serves more than 600 youths each week. The organization has served inner- city youths since 1988.
