staff report

LISBON — Ohio’s 6th District will receive $626,476 to expand services offered at six community health centers, U.S. Rep. Charlie Wilson, D-6th, announced Friday.

The Community Action Agency of Columbiana County will receive $246,107 from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for their facilities in Lisbon and East Liverpool.

The money will allow them to retain a part-time dentist two days a week. It will also help hire an additional nurse, expand their nurse practitioner position, and purchase much-needed medical equipment, including two prenatal monitoring devices and a lead testing machine.
