Garden Forum prepares for meeting, show

YOUNGSTOWN — The Garden Forum of Greater Youngstown Area Inc. will have its spring meeting and flower show April 18 at the D.D. and Velma Davis Center at Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave.

Flower show entries are to be placed from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. The entries will be judged at 11:30 a.m., and the show will be open to the public from 1-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Show schedules are available at the Davis Center.

Garden club members and the public are welcome to enter the show. The club’s luncheon will be catered by Cater 2U, David Armstrong. Registration will begin at noon, and the luncheon will be served at 12:30. Reservations are requested at $20, to be sent to Garden Forum, 123 McKinley Ave., Youngstown, OH 44509. Checks are to be made payable to Garden Forum of Youngstown.

The program by Pearl Marlos will be a flower-arranging demonstration. She is a nationally accredited master flower-show judge and member of the GCO, Ikebana and Gleaners Garden Club. The theme of her designs will be “Roadside to Yourside.” A Chinese auction will take place as a fundraiser, and the awards will be given for the 2008 flower show ribbon winners.
