Alliance man to be sentenced for 2008 rape

LISBON — An Alliance man is scheduled to be sentenced Friday on four counts of rape for attacking a woman on Christmas Eve 2008.

Tony L. Logsdon, 55, of South Mahoning Avenue, entered the plea Monday in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court. He faces a potential 10-year sentence on each count. He is in the county jail.

Logsdon was sentenced to two life sentences for shooting and killing a woman and her daughter in Stark County in late 1972.

Logsdon was released from custody last year.

Columbiana County officials said he invited a woman to his home last December to exchange gifts, threatened her with a knife and raped her.
