WEDNESDAY

• Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The menu will include salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread and butter, pie and beverage. Cost is $6.50, and containers will be provided for takeout orders. No reservations are necessary. • Canfield Christian Church, 123 S. Broad St., will serve a Lenten breakfast from 7 to 9:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall. A freewill offering will be accepted.

THURSDAY

• Boardman United Methodist Preschool, 6809 Market St., Boardman, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner, scholastic book fair and a silent auction from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals are $6.50 for adults, $3.50 for children 3 to 10, and free for those under 2. Takeouts will be available.

• Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman Poland Road, Poland, will have takeout dinners of baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans available from 4 to 6 p.m. (or until sold out). The cost is $6. No need to preorder or get out of the car.

FRIDAY

• Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday and from 8 :30 to 11 a.m. Friday at (330) 755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Orders may be picked up until 3:30 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

• Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at (330) 792-1005.

• Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pirogi. The cost for potato or potato with kraut pirogi is $5 a dozen. Orders will be taken from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday at (330) 746-9528. Orders should be placed early and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot pirogi lunches will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

• Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 4470 Norquest Blvd, Austintown, will be serving Lenten fish dinners catered by Rachel’s. The dinners are hosted by IHM Home & School from 4-7 p.m. on Fridays. The cost is $8.95 per dinner, and a children’s menu is available for $4.95 per dinner.

• National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 Lipkey Road, North Jackson, will serve fish dinners each Friday during Lent (until April 3) from 3 to 7 p.m. Meals include baked or fried haddock or 21 shrimp, with haluski, soup, coleslaw, bread, dessert and beverage. • Potato and cheese pirogi will be sold at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown. To order, call (330) 799-0084 after 6 p.m. Thursday or after 8 a.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per bag of one dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome, but no sales before 11 a.m. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

• St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pizza and other Italian treats. Orders may be placed by calling (330) 746-9577 from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 1 p.m.

• St. Brendan Church will sponsor a fish dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Fridays during Lent (except April 10) at Maxwell Hall, 144 N. Schenley Ave., Youngstown. Meals are $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Featured will be beer battered, fried, baked or Cajun fish; macaroni and cheese, parsley potatoes, fries or haluski; coleslaw or applesauce; and cake and coffee. A takeout-only luncheon will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and evening takeouts are until 6 p.m. A sandwich and side will be $5 and dinners will be $8. For takeouts call (330) 799-3683.

• St. Joseph Church, 4565 New Road, Austintown, will serve fish dinners in the church hall from 4-7 p.m. on Fridays during Lent, with the exception of March 20. The dinners are sponsored by K. of C. Council 13977. The cost for adults is $8, and for children under 12, it’s $4. Meals consist of baked or beer-battered fish, macaroni and cheese or fries, coleslaw, rolls, beverage and cake.

• Lenten fish dinners will be served at St. Lucy Church, 294 Tenney Ave., Campbell, from 4 to 7 p.m. each Friday through April 3 at the social center. Dinners will feature fried or baked Cod, french fries, macaroni and cheese or haluski, dessert, and punch or coffee. Tickets are $9 for adults, $8.50 for senior citizens, and $4,50 for children under 12. Takeout orders (adult size only) will be $9 each. Three takeout dinners will be offered as a special for $25.

• St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave., Boardman, will bake Italian-style red and white pizza. Phone orders will be accepted at (330) 788-0025 from 9-11:30 a.m. Pickup will be until 1 p.m. Price is $6 for regular or Brier Hill pizza, and $5 for white pizza.

• St. Maron Church will serve fish dinners from 3 to 7 p.m. each Friday during Lent at Antioch Hall, 1555 S. Meridian Road. Meals feature fried or baked haddock, baked cod, fried shrimp, tuna steak and smelts, and a choice of sides (macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, fries or potato pirogi) bread and butter. Cost is $8 and takeouts will be available.

• St. Patrick Parish will have a Lenten fish fry each Friday through April 3 at the church hall, 367 N. Main St., Hubbard. Baked or beer battered fried haddock will be served with a choice of one side (french fries, mac and cheese, pirogi, or haluski) and coleslaw or applesauce, bread, dessert and beverage. Adult dinners are $8, and meals for children are $6. Carryouts will be available. Place an order by calling (330) 534-4219.

• St. Paul the Apostle Church, Main Street, New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi. Orders can be called to (330) 542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at (330) 747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Pickup will be by 1 p.m. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers and use the side entrance. • Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian Catholic Parish, 421 Covington St., is sponsoring Lenten fish dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. each Friday through April 10. Meals include fries or macaroni and cheese or haluski, coleslaw or applesauce, roll, and coffee or water. Carryouts will be available. The cost is $8.50 for adults and $5 for children 8 and under. • Tod Avenue United Methodist Church, 155 Tod Ave. NW, Warren, will serve all-you-can-eat fish dinners from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Meals include deep fried ocean perch, homefried potatoes, coleslaw, desserts and beverage. SATURDAY

• St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 280 Mill Creek Drive, Boardman, will be the site of a benefit spaghetti dinner for the Rev. Hosea Ekong. Sponsor of the event is Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Dinners will be served from 4-7 p.m., and takeouts will be available. Baked goods will also be for sale. Tickets cost $6.50 for those 12 and older, $4 for kids 4 to 11 years old, and free for children under 3. To purchase tickets, call the church at (330) 788-8995.

• Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, will have a Swiss steak dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Meals include mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw, applesauce, bread, beverage and dessert. Takeouts available. Meals are $7.50 for adults, $4 for children 5 to 12, and free for those 4 and under.

• Volant Volunteer Fire Co., Volant, Pa., will have an all-you-can-eat buckwheat pancake and sausage day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Regular pancakes available. • First Presbyterian Church, 3654 Main St., Mineral Ridge, will sponsor a chicken and biscuit dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 (those 5 and younger eat free) Takeouts available. For advance tickets, call (330) 653-5712.

• Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church hall. Cost is $6 for adults and $3.50 for children. Carryouts will be available; containers are $1 or you can provide your own.

• Holy Name Society of St. Elizabeth Church, 124 Keystone St., Campbell, will sponsor a pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon in the church hall. The all-you-can-eat meals are $5 for adults, $3 for children 7 to 12, and free for those 6 and under. Carryouts available.

• Jackson Township Fire Department Auxiliary will sponsor a pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jackson Township Administration Building, 10613 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson. The cost is $5 for adults, $2.50 for children 5 to 12, and free for those 4 and under.

• Mathews Mustangs Boys Basketball Team will serve pancake breakfasts from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Warren-Sharon Road in Vienna. Meals are $6 for adults and $4 for seniors and children 3 to 10. There will be a bake sale and takeout orders.

• Vincent United Methodist Church, Walnut Street, Jackson Center, Pa., will serve braised steak dinners beginning at noon. TAKING ORDERS

• American Hungarian Club, 2219 Donald Ave., Youngstown, is taking orders for carryout stuffed cabbage. The cost is $12 for a baker’s dozen. Patrons can take their own containers and save the $1.25 fee charged for a club container. Orders will be accepted until Thursday at (330) 792-2620 or (330) 792-3731. Pickup will be from noon to 3 p.m. March 14 at the club. A limited number of orders are being accepted for Hungarian Dobos Torta until March 27 at (330) 799-7008. • Happy Hearts Junior Tambur-itzans are accepting orders for Easter strudel, made by the parents organization and to be sold uncooked and frozen, ready to be baked. The cost is $8 each. Pickup will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. any Tuesday at St. George Croatian Home, 3200 Vestal Road, with the final pickup on April 7.

• Holy Trinity Rumanian Orthodox Church, 626 Wick Ave., is taking orders for Easter candy. A variety of milk or white chocolate Easter eggs will be available for 75 cents each, and suckers and solid chocolate treats will be available. A mini Easter basket will be $12. • St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown is taking orders for poppyseed, nut, poppyseed with raisin, nut with raisin, and apricot Easter kolachi. The cost is $10 each.
