1080 Media earns Class B’s top seed


STRUTHERS — 1080 Media clinched the top seed for the Class B playoffs with Sunday’s 14-6 win over Rondinelli Tuxedo at Cene Park.

Brad Byers, Anthony Raschilla and Dan Popio had two hits each for 1080 Media (22-4).

Jason Bagoly had three hits and Kyle Vaclav added two for Rondinelli (20-6).

Dave Sugar Excavating 3, OTN Performance 1

STRUTHERS — With the win, Dave Sugar Excavating (14-12) tied OTN for fifth place a with one game to go in the regular season.

Jordan Izzo had three hits while Travis Richey (3-1) tossed 6 2/3 innings. Richey had seven strikeouts.

Jay Rowland and Wade Daniels had two hits for OTN Performance. Crum’s sixth inning double drove home the go ahead run for Dave Sugar.

Astro Falcons 14, Livi Steel 0

STRUTHERS — Dave Rossi had three hits for Astro Falcons (18-8). Jared Turocy and Mike Natale added two hits each for the winners.

Steve Wilaj had a pair of hits for Livi Steel (5-21).

Wharmby Sports 11, Action Physical Therapy 0

STRUTHERS — Wharmby Sports (18-8) remains tied with the Astro Falcons for third place.

Anthony Savko, Ben Bechtol, Tony Koch and Dom Lapolla had two hits each for Wharmby with Savko driving home three runs.

Matt Tyson tossed a complete game with eight strikeouts for the win. Matt Corner and losing pitcher Jarrod Seech had hits for Action Physical Therapy (3-23).

Roth Brothers 5, Youngstown Express 4

STRUTHERS — Bubba Uhlman’s two-out single to center in the bottom of the seventh inning drove home the winning run for Roth Brothers.

Uhlman added another single while A.J. Zorella had two hits for Roth (10-16).

Anthony O’Nesti had a pair of hits for the Express (6-20) while Jon DeAmicis tossed a complete game in defeat to fall to 3-6.

Kyle Kesner had three strikeouts in one inning for the win in relief for Roth.

TriState Collegiate

YOUNGSTOWN — Dave Leon’s two hits included a triple and he scored three runs as Youngstown Metros edged Pittsburgh Pandas, 9-8, at Pemberton Park. Matt Durkin also tripled.

The Metros also dropped a 10-1 decision to the Pandas. Dom Sylvestri doubled.

AA League

YOUNGSTOWN — Matt Pitzulo hit two triples while Eric Pirtz’s two hits included a double as Youngstown Metros defeated Nemenz, 13-3.

Durkin’s three hits included a triple while Sylvestri doubled.

For Nemenz, Mike Vitucci and Ryan Stanko doubled.
