YSU tuition stays frozen, but room and board costs rise
YOUNGSTOWN — Undergraduate student tuition at Youngstown State University will remain frozen at $6,721 for the third consecutive year.
The tuition rate was approved by the university’s Board of Trustees today in conjunction with a $150.1 million general fund budget for fiscal 2009-10 which begins July 1.
While undergraduate students won’t have to pay more tuition, the approximately 1,000 living on campus will see an increase in room and board costs from $7,090 to $7,400 per year.
YSU’s 1,500 graduate students aren’t so lucky. They will see a 6 percent increase in tuition. The rate for in-state residents will be $9,256 per year while nonresidents will pay $9,451.
