Wakeboard competition planned at Milton

LAKE MILTON — Water’s Edge Board Shop will host the third annual Wake Milton wakeboard competition Saturday. The competition will take place at Lake Milton State Park picnic area off Milton Commons Boulevard.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the first rider off the dock will be at 9 a.m. To register, go to the Web site at www.weboardshop.com or call (330) 259-7259.

This competition is a grass-roots water sport, encouraging riders of all ages and levels to participate. It was developed through a combination of water skiing, snowboarding and surfing techniques.

The event is open to the public. The Water’s Edge anticipates the competition’s largest turnout since the inaugural event in 2007 with nearly 60 riders participating.

Previous competitions have drawn riders from all over the Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia area, and this year should be no exception.
